The Control Room

When we were back in the Control Room, we stared at all the computers and screen. Nedry was still working at his computer, not listening to us.
John Arnold sat down in front of a keyboard; next to him was a huge map on a piece of glass. The map showed the whole island. This computer was very awesome!!!! Arnold pressed a key on the keyboard and immediately there were lots of thin blue lines on the map. Arnold said that the blue lines show the movements of the young tyrannosaur for the last 24 hours, now it's in the south-east of the island, near the lake, whereas adult tyrannosaur is north-west of the lake. John Arnold said that he could show where all those 238 animals are. He pressed more keys and lots of dots with numbers next to them appeared on the screen.

When I ask that how accurate was that system, he answered that the dots shows us very accurately where an animal is and he also showed us what else that they could do. “This system makes sure that we can’t lose any animal. “There are sensors which detect movement and there are video cameras.” said John Arnold.

The computer not only just kept watches the animals, the computer counted all the animals in each species every 15 minutes and if an animal died, the computer would tell us in a few minutes. The computer showed the height of the dinosaurs too.

I’m worried, but I didn’t have my courage to say anything else.

When we left the control room, Gennaro spoke to me that it looks like a good and safe system to him. But I said things were already going wrong and that graph showed the heights of a normal group of animals, and it shouldn’t. This is not a normal place and those are not normal animals. Gennaro had no idea what I said, but I said to him, ‘You soon will.”
